2015

2015

Been away for awhile.  So much happens in November and December.  Writing took a back seat.

Now that 2015 is here, it is time to think about that next thing.  Time to be open to whatever presents itself.  Time to dream a new dream.  Time to think in a new way.  Time to let go of hurts and disappointments and move toward joy and happy.

People use the arrival of the new year to begin again.  To set new goals.  To access the present situation and decide if a new path is a necessary piece of the future.  The new year gives us all the excuse we need to journey in a new direction.

I feel a sense of adventure when I think of a new year.  I think of possibilities.  I think of opportunities to experience life in a new and exciting way.  I think about all the people who will come along on the journey. On the other hand,  I know that all of this new year will not be good.  There will be decisions to make.  Maybe some that will be difficult.  That is the stuff of life.

No need to worry about what might be.  Instead I will focus on the positive things that are out there waiting to present themselves.  I have learned that being open to life is a wonderful way to live.  Everyday opportunities for doing a good thing appear.  What separates people is the ability to see those opportunities.  Most of life is not lived in a big "movie star" way.  Most of life is lived in the small things.  The smile of a stranger, the help with a door, the friendly greeting.  If we aren't careful, we miss those things.  We don't see them as small miracles.  As people reaching out to one another just because we share a space on this earth.  I want to have eyes to see and ears to hear.

This new year shows itself a little at a time.  It is up to us to show up for it.
